Who’s the most powerful man in the world?
Think about it. The answer isn’t so simple. It requires some thought. Thought that most people don’t put into the issue but perhaps should. It might change people’s perspectives on who they think they really are.
Korah probably should have thought about this when he challenged Moshe’s leadership. After leading the Jews out of Egypt and going up to Mount Sinai to experience a special level of prophecy no one else merited. There should have been no question who the rightful leader was. Until of course when the spies came back with the negative report about Israel that resulted in the sentence that the Jews should wander the desert for 40 years. This was the opportunity to try and seize leadership.
Even let’s say it was Moshe’s fault. Who was Korah to try and seize leadership. Was he as great as Moshe? Did he have the best leadership qualities. It’s fairly obvious that to assume so would make him a massive ba’al hagaavah (arrogant individual). This is not a person we would have wanted running the show.
Think about where modern politicians are holding. Right now, there are two people (Romney and Obama) and possibly a third (Ron Paul) who think they are great enough to be the most powerful man in the world. And they probably think they will be.
Will they be? Is this what you guessed. Well, if you did, you’d be well-wrong! The answer is….
The second politicians recognize who they are, we’ll all be much better off.
